Before I read this article I thought genre was describing the type of literature but after reading the texts I now understand that genres are open ended constructions of different types of literature that come together to form a specific type. Three main ideas I can take away from this text about writing is that there is much more to any type of writing than what often appears, writing is often based off other texts, and that genres are created by both writers and readers. My understanding of writing and genres has changed after reading this because I’ve many new concepts about writing like how many pieces there actually are to writing and what has to go into it. There weren’t any major claims that I completely disagreed with in the text.
These links that I’ve included are both links to sports articles. I feel that they’re both connected to the same genre because they’re displaying very similar information. One thing from the text that I didn’t completely understand is exactly how genres are formed.
