Writing Experiences Marissa Latouche

Past writing experiences:
Current event reflections, very often throughout high school in global perspective courses
Persuasive argument pieces, often in English courses in order to practice opinion work
Narrative stories, just for fun and practicing different writing techniques

My favorite type of writing is persuasive argument pieces. When writing in an argumentative style I believe I am the most creative and influential.  Writing is not my strongest subject but when writing in this style I feel the most confident . My least favorite writing style is current event reflections. In total honesty I feel current events are depressing most of the time. Current events are extremely important and necessary to spread pertinent information to the world, but every current ever written by myself has made me question society and morals in a very negative way. My most successful piece of writing happens to be a current event piece that was on the beginning months of Donald's Trump presidency.  The topic is obviously controversial seeing as Trump's approval rating is falling steadily with no change insight. The interest in Trump created a very creative forum to discuss the issues while being able to slightly voice my own opinion without drifting too much from the topic. My least successful piece of writing are my narrative stories as I see my writing as immature and unimportant. I do enjoy writing narrative pieces but as a writer, I feel I must move onto more mature styles of writing.
