Writing theory Justin Suter

The connections I see between my word cloud and my key terms is that almost all of them showed up in my word cloud, however some appeared bigger than others. I did not expect to see some of the words appear as large as they did and I was expecting my key terms to be larger than some of them were. I was surprised how the word cloud turned out because I had never made one before and I wasn't sure I understood what to expect when it was being explained to me. It is important to see what the word cloud mirrors because it can show what thoughts dominate your mind while you write depending on what you are writing about. Not really because I still think those terms define writing. I think my ideas of writing are that writing has to have a purpose because most of the time you always set out with a purpose before writing something. Also this was one of my key terms that appeared lager than most in my word cloud so I think this really defines writing to me.

My theory of writing would be if you set out with a purpose for writing something and you express yourself and your ideas throughout it you will be successful with every piece of writing you do. Depending on what type pf writing you are doing you are then able to add creativity or make it personal, again to ultimately accomplish the purpose of that piece.

I believe the connections of the word cloud I made were similar to others in my group because we all saw words we weren't expecting to see on our word clouds. Also we all were able to identify our key terms throughout the word cloud meaning those key terms for the most part are what we classify with writing. Our maps were all a little different but connected the word in different ways and it was cool to see what ways they decided to connect their words compared to mine. As we discussed our theories we were able to see the differences through out our personal ideas of what writing is. While my theory was more focussed on accomplishing the purpose you set out with for each writing task other members of my group focused more on expressing yourself through writing to escape reality in a sense. It was nice to hear how other people view writing because people have different levels of passion for writing and I believe that really has an impact on your personal theory. The different ways people appreciate writing makes their theory drastically different from yours.
