My word cloud contained all of my key terms except work. Understanding was the biggest word of my key terms shown in the word cloud. I'm surprised that understanding was the biggest because I would have expected that to be equal along with the others or I would have expected assemblage to be the biggest. I used the word assemblage a lot in my writing so I don't understand why it wasn't recognized as a more important word. I don't feel like the word cloud fully represents my theory of writing or what I visualized my journal would look like.

My theory of writing is that writing is a way of communicating to others. It portrays the author's ideas and thoughts or knowledge that they want to share with the reader. I think writing is work because it requires the author to be creative and understand how to communicate with others. Writing is a skill that can be learned and practiced, and typically improves with experience. A successful author is one who can reach a group of people and who's work is accessible and understandable. They have a purpose or a focus for their writing and that gets across to the reader.

Reflection:
When comparing my theory to others, I noticed that there were some generic and simple key terms that almost everybody had on their paper. That the same time, there were many unique terms from other people's papers that I would never have considered when writing mine. It was interesting to see how each person interpreted the theory and how differently people can approach one assignment. I think that having a theory of writing can be useful because it allows your brain to understand exactly what your aim is with your writing and gives you a sense of purpose. As a writer, I can say I'm more experienced and more knowledgeable now because I've really thought about and dissected what it is to write. I am more aware now when I write what message I am trying to convey. I identify with my theory because I really think the basis of writing is the need to communicate and share. I think I am surrently a more alert and aware writer because I am focusing on what my writing is about and whether I find it fits my definition or not.
