Theory of Knowledge- Vicotria Farrar

When creating the word cloud, I expected more terms of writing to come up. However, more basic words popped up. This was surprising because I thought I had talked about the terms of writing and what it is but many of the words in the cloud were similar. Also, some of the words that came up in the cloud I would not have directly linked to writing itself. On the other hand, there are many connections to the words in the cloud and to writing. The most frequent words tended to be writing, ideas, thoughts, etc. This word cloud made me realize that my key terms were specific to books and specific genres instead of writing in general.

Writing is a way for people, students, teachers, parents, children, to express themselves though words. The words on paper are more in-depth thoughts and ideas that people explain. It conveys a sense of knowledge and security to express yourself through well thought explicit words and sentences. Writing is a way for someone to open their true selves to the world. It is about meaning, diverse ideas, original thoughts and deeper support on all levels. Writing is a way that people can organize thoughts and feelings into something tangible and real.

  1. My theory of, writing compared to others I saw today, was very similar. There were many of the same words that had a significant use in the word clouds compared with mine. Having a theory is important because there are so many ways of writing. Having a theory gives your writing a path or some sort of organization so that you as a writer have a way of knowing what style of writing appeals to you and your readers. Myself as a writer now, has a lot more to learn about writing. There are many things about writing and many different styles that are important to know. As for now I am becoming more open to the idea that there is more to writing than what I know and have learned. I connect to my theory of writing by my specific style of writing. I enjoy writing out my thoughts and feelings for myself. Getting words from my head onto paper helps me think clearly and fully understand who I am as a person. At this moment, my identity as a writer is more of someone who enjoys writing for themselves. I do not see myself as a specific writer, but I know my abilities to write in different contexts are vast. When I was in school, I had a good foundation of what writing is and how it should be done. I am able to take writing in different context and make it learn how to make it appealing to different people, although I still have much more to learn.
